Bang for one's buck
Honda Motor Company's Honda Cub series has sold over 55 million units worldwide, making it one of the best-selling motorbike models of all time. Even after more than 50 years, the Cub series remains popular in Asian countries, particularly the Philippines. Although the Cub's engine displacement has recently been raised to 90cc, the current model remains virtually identical from the original design established in 1958 by Honda founder Soichiro Honda (after known as Mr. Honda). This vintage motorcycle is a fantastic basis for customisation due to its popularity and stylish simplicity. With a few changes—and possibly some new parts—you can transform this classic into something hipster-approved, or you can turn around and ride it.
Kintaro Hattori created the first "Cub" motorcycle, and its first production run began on March 9th, 1949 at its Hamamatsu City plant. It was based on an existing design named "Monkey" created by Hideo Shima (who also worked on another popular Japanese scooter). It was nicknamed "Monkey" because of its long wheelbase (which provided exceptional handling) and upright riding posture (which allowed riders to see over traffic).
The original "cub" was a basic and dependable bike that could be adjusted to meet the demands of each rider. It is still one of the most popular motorcycles on the road today, and for good reason! It's reasonably priced yet being tough enough to endure any terrain you would face as a bicycle or pedestrian (or both). With its simple appearance and long-lasting reliability, this classic machine has earned a spot as one of my favorite rides around town!
The Honda Cub70 is an ideal base for customisation due to its popularity and stylistic simplicity. With a few modifications, this classic motorcycle may be transformed into a hipster-approved street bike or a two-wheeled off-road beast.
The Honda Cub is an excellent vehicle for customization. It's simple, easy to maintain, and fun to ride. Some modifications can be done by removing the fairing, adding mudguards and other accessories, changing the location of the oil filter (if more room is needed), installing CB radios or other electronics, and so on.
If you enjoy tinkering with your vehicle, this is something you should look into doing yourself because it's much cheaper than buying new parts from dealerships, which will cost much more than what we're discussing here today, so make sure that whatever modification job you do doesn't compromise performance too much because then nobody will want their own customizing efforts!
Joey's Garage is a motorbike shop in Malolos, Bulacan, known for its large number of customized Honda cub motorcycle constructions. The cubs are tailored and created around a theme, and they literally practice the "concept to completion."
Joey Apap founded Joey's Garage after working in an idle bike mechanic shop from 2010. When he left that employment, he decided to create his own company, Joey's Garage, because "this name makes sense" to him!
We're only five months into 2023, but the modified Honda Cubs are already looking good. There are a lot of them on the road, and they appear to be becoming more popular by the day.
The key question is, what will happen to these little machines next? We don't know yet, but if you live in Malolos or the surrounding areas and want one, Joey's Garage has a few possibilities available right now so you may start planning what to create. We'll keep an eye on this as it progresses, but in the meanwhile, check out their other Facebook posts at https://www.facebook.com/JoeyGarage09 before moving on! Good luck with your project or vehicle selection.
